What does it mean to save?
I remembered the moment my wife’s heart stopped beating. We were out in the cornfields together. The sunset framed the sky with it’s orange red glow whole I had my hands over Olive’s stomach and kissed her neck. She giggled over the breeze. “Ah, stop it Ben!” Olive laughed her hearty laugh, “If you keep that up I’ll-“ I laughed too, blowing a bit of her hair as I leaned into her ear. “You’ll what?” Olive didn’t say. She just pushed me off and continued laughing. “I don’t know, I need to think about it!” We went back to staring at the sky. We could see little stars becoming visible, something you wouldn’t be able to get in the city. My ears picked up the sound of a electric wheeze across a hill. “Did you hear something in the wind?” Olive asked. “Crime in progress?” I shook my head. “Nah. It’s Benjy. He’s coming back from his little play date with the Time Travel Club from the future. Never did trust those youngsters.” “They’re not THAT bad.” “They tried to
The forest around me shined. It smelled of musk and pollen, life’s fibers. A sound in the wind alarmed the animals here, humans included. It warned everyone to be afraid. To be careful. Nature was a beast not to be trifled with, nor fetishized. Even so, I stood barefoot among the grass. I knew from the first moment that I would be in danger. Deter, it did not. Each step I took brought me further to my destination. There. My eyes gazed over a clearing, trapped in amber by nostalgia. Memories were forged here. A child picking up a flower for a maiden. A proposal that had been rejected. A princess who married the dragon. I had to come here again. No matter where I went in life, this place called to me. I was at peace when I sat on the ground. Eagerly, I took in the smell of life’s fibers once again. Was this what it felt to be in paradise? I wondered why Adam and Eve had forsaken it, even with the temptation of knowledge hidden in the apple. A breath escaped me and I remained tranquil. My
Easter arrived just the same
The rain poured hard, flushin’ away
One lone stranger arrives to the grave
A silver coin, he chose to pay
His expression mournful
His words a mouthful,
Never quite impressing
He remains a mogul
The man told tales of how he’s been
Stories of love, pain and cowardice, el fin.
He sobbed, kneeling down
Begging release from pain, yet the grave frowns
Twas his punishment you see
To roam the Earth unclean
He argued and argued,
He only fulfilled the part he was given
It was for his friend, for his good
He didn’t see how it would bear fruit
Over his lifetime on Earth, he would come again

Chapter 2: Joana vs Mamá’s Boyfriend
Joana felt a wide range of emotions. They went about as as followed: shock, anger, betrayal, anger, afraid, anger, curiosity over who this random stranger was and what they were doing in the living room naked with her mamá, anger. Mostly anger if one couldn’t tell.
I mean, who wouldn’t honestly?
“Joana!”
Juana managed to get up from the sofa, covering herself with a conveniently placed pillow. “I didn’t expect you to come early, lo siento!”
“Mamá…” Joana started, but stopped. She pointed a finger at the shee

A pair of fists connected with a pair of faces, each sending painful shockwaves to the other.
Those pair of fists belonged to a mother and daughter duo. One was a tall muscled older lady, her brown skin drenched in sweat, some wrinkles visible on her face and grey hairs appearing on her hair. The other was a young fifteen year old girl, her muscles were not as pronounced as her mother's but still noticeable, her hair tied in a ponytail, a determined steely look on her face, her own brown skin barely sweating as she quickly recovered from the punch to her face.
Every week day morning, Juana and Joana Arroyo had boxing training. In her youth,
In the ancient world, humankind was cold, wet and hungry, surrounded by a vast landscape that seems to hate their very existence. They were faced with an enormous problem, and needed a solution. So thus, whether by twist of fate or by curious accident, humans discovered fire, and harnessed it's power. Not a true element in any sense, fire could be considered a representation of humankind's potential, a powerful tool to cook meals, keep warmth, light a path in the darkness…

The night was quite beautiful.
For once, the night sky shone brightly with stars overlapping a cloudless scape, the town of Palmer, Massachusetts embracing the Halloween fright.
People were out in garish, spooky costumes, whether for trick or treating… or a combo both in some capacity. They seem to be enjoying themselves… and really, why shouldn’t they? Aside from a couple of modern malls, the town was rather old fashioned in design, making it an ideal spot for the season of Halloween.

Today is a super crappy day.
My boss fired me from work, my friends left without me to the convention down the street, I have to pay my ex wife or else I lose custody of our son (‘my son!’ I thought in my head, ‘he’s MINE!’), my taxes are getting higher and to top it all off, it’s raining so I can’t even ride my motorcycle today! God, what else can possibly happen!
Ding dong, a bell rang. Fuck.
I went outside to confront the asshole ringing and give him a piece of my mind. That was the plan.
But instead, it was a bear outside.
